The first step would be for you to contact us and tell us all about your next project so we can organise a meeting with you. To simplify everything we have broken the whole process into 3 simple stages once you wish to move forward with 10 Star.
A building energy assessor will work closely with us during the design phase of your new home to ensure that it is as energy efficient as possible. Currently a 10 Star rating is the highest rating achievable for an Australian home and something we aim for on each one of our projects.
PRE-DESIGN
CONSULTATION
The first step would be to contact 10 Star and give us a brief overview of your project, we will then schedule a consultation with you at your home or proposed site for an initial consult to expand on what we previously discussed. We are able to look at the initial site features, existing conditions, and to discuss briefly if your grand plans are compatible with the site/your budget/timeframe. There is no-obligation to commit to any further architectural services.
PRE-DESIGN
The second step involves a site survey and completing a brief development which goes into further detail in regards to your wish-list. We will follow with completing a thorough project brief which includes the scope, site limitations, quality, budget and possibilities of your site which will prepare us for the next stage.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
CONCEPT DESIGN
To create a concept design we would use your project brief and site survey. A Quantity Surveyor would be engaged at this time once the design has been finalised.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The Full resolution of the project with more detail includes interior design, materials and finishes, fittings and fixtures and services. At this stage we work alongside our in-house energy assessor.
APPROVAL
DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONw
All relevant and required Development Application drawings and reports are finalised for lodgement at your local council for the Development Application approval. All relevant consultants are also contacted for approval.
CONSTRUCTION CERTIFICATE
Once Development Application has been approved working drawings, schedules and specification for Construction Certificate are confirmed. All relevant consultants are also contacted for approval.

10 Star is qualified in both architectural drafting and energy assessing, the two of these go hand in hand to create a building that is mutually architectural beautiful and energy efficient. Unlike other practices that may use external energy consultants which would be very costly, having an in-house energy assessor means that your project is constantly analysed to ensure that it reaches the 8 star minimum we aim for in all our projects.
